Training description
As part of the DTMethod Facilitator training, participants will learn in detail about the role of the DTFacilitator, which is the person responsible for leading the process – from the stage of establishing the challenge with the DTSponsor, to its closure when the team hands over the solution to the DTSponsor.
During the training, participants learn about the role of the facilitator in the context of leading and preparing a DTMethod workshop – what such a person does during the workshop and what goes beyond his/her competence. The training exercises the competences necessary to create a challenge description, that is, to extract from the DTSponsor the guiding thought for the whole process. Participants also lean into the topic of helping the DTSponsor to select an effective DTTeam.
The DTMethod Facilitator training also covers the topic of how the group process influences the implementation of the workshop and how to deal with the challenges associated with the different phases of group development. As part of the training, participants will also learn about the factors affecting communication effectiveness and how to deal with communication difficulties. The final part of the training is about scaling design thinking workshops for larger groups or large organisations.
During the course, facilitator tools such as energisers, icebreakers and break are also discussed and practised. At the end of the training, participants will have the opportunity to take part in facilitator rehearsals and receive feedback from other participants to develop their workshop leading skills.
